Katy was raised in Santa Maria, California. In September of 2015 she married her best friend, Nick Negranti. She began her journey with horses at the age of 5. She graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science. Shortly after graduation she officially started her own horse training business. Her training program is heavily influenced by todays modern horsemanship principles. In 2009, Katy successfully trained and showed a wild mustang in an Extreme Mustang Makeover competition. Her efforts won her the title of Western States Extreme Mustang Makeover Champion. Katy has worked with a variety of horses that range in age, breed and discipline. She strives to work with both horses and their owners to ensure the best possible outcome. Katy has a passion for helping people learn about horses and good horsemanship. She excels working with children and people who tend to lack confidence with horses. Working with horses is a lifelong passion for Katy. She lives and breathes everything horses. Katy strives to continue her education by working with respected trainers and attending clinics herself.
